HOW TO MAKE
AN ENVELOPE WITH A CARD
This tutorial
assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP and it is written
for PSP versions 8 & 9
You don't
need need any outside filters, just what your PSP comes with
and we are working with the selection and preset tools
Open a new canvas 500 x 500
Choose
your selection tool and choose rectangle. Settings replace
and feather 0. Floodfill with a nice creamy color and go to
Effects, Texture, Old Paper

Select None
Add drop shadow with following
settings.
Vertical 0 / Horizontal 2 /
Opacity 80 / Blur 5 / Color Black
Repeat, but this time change
Horizontal to -2
Find a nice tube . Eg a nice
flower or what ever you wish to have on your card and paste
as a new layer and resize (all layers unchecked) and lower
the opacity to anything between 20-50 depending on how much
you want it to show. Now go to Layers - Merge - Merge
Visible. This is our card inside the envelope.
Now add a new layer and move
it to bottom. Choose your preset tools and choose rectangle.
Choose the same creamy color
as a background color and and a slightly darker foreground
color stroke 4. Draw a rectangle slightly bigger than the
previous rectangle. Highlight the layer, convert to
rasterlayer and add the same texture as before.
Add a new layer
Choose your preset tool again
with same settings and colors (just make it stroke 3), but
choose triangle from the drop down list. Draw a triangle
that is as wide as the envelope and stretch up as much as
you'd like it to be. It's ok if it's upside down. We'll just
convert to raster layer and got to Image and Flip. Move it
to place with the mover tool. If it is too wide or too
narrow, you can fix this with the deformation tool .

Add the same Texture again
You can also add your tube on
the lid of the envelope.
If you added a tube on the
lid. Hide all the other layers except the lid and the tube,
highlight either layer and go to Layers - Merge - Merge
Visible.
When you move your mouse over
the layers on the layer palette, you will see what is on
each layer, so it's easy to see what to hide.
Unhide all the layers again
Now with your deformation tool
turn the envelope and the lid a little to the left. this is
optional. you can also leave them straight. (you can also
use the rotate tool. Go to Image - Rotate - Free Rotate and
check the boxes either to the Left or Right and 15 degrees.
Do this for both the envelope and lid layers by highlighting
them)
Add a new layer and add your
text and your name
Merge visible and save as a
jpg. (this will leave a white background). If you want it
with transparent background, open animation shop and copy your image with Edit - Copy and
paste to animation shop as a new image and save as a gif
file.
Happy creating.
And as always - if you have
any questions all you need to do is ask
Hugs
