Simple Frames
These tutorials are written for PSP
versions 8 & 9 and any
similarity to other tutorials on
the net is purely coincidental.
You are welcome to copy the link
to my tutorials to your groups.
My tutorials assume you have a
working knowledge of PSP.
There are 3 pages on the frames
tutorials, you'll find the links
to next pages at the bottom of
the page. I will keep adding to
these slowly but surely.
Please note these aren't really
tag tutorials, it's more about
how to and to give the tools to
create tags of your own..
If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to contact

Let's get started
Open a new canvas 500 x 500
pixels, transparent background
First of all you need to decide
on the colours you want to use
for your frames.
In the example I have a red
outline and background colour
alternately black and white.
Find your preset tools and
choose the rounded rectangle.
Set your foreground colour. This
will be your outside frame for
all the layers. Choose the
background colour and make a
note of the colour (if you use
another colour than black or
white)..
Step 1
Go to your preset tools and find
the rounded rectangle.
Set the width at 7 and try to
draw a rectangle that is as
square as possible.
Add a new layer and change your
background colour to a different
one and draw a second square
inside the first one

Add a new raster layer and
change the background to the
same colour you used in your
first frame and draw a third
square inside the second one.
Find the raster layers in your
layer palette and delete them.
You should now have 3 vector
layers. Right click on each and
convert to raster layer.
Step 2
Highlight your bottom layer and
with the magic wand click inside
the frame - go to Selections and
Invert.
Now add Inner Bevel with these
settings

Selections - Select none.
Repeat for layers 2 and 3.
Step 3
Add your picture tube on a new
layer and artist's copyright
info if applicable
Add a new layer and add your
name and you are done.

Frames 2
Do steps 1 and 2.
Now go to your middle layer and
choose the deformation tool.
Turn this layer about 90 degrees
to the right or left

Resize the top layer by 125 % -
bicubic resample and all layers
NOT checked
why not add a nice detail - like
a flower
Add your tube - artist's
copyright info if applicable and
your name and you are done
